Well hello

Well hello

So happy to start this blog with some exciting news...

I've had a painting  pre-selected for the Institute of East Anglian Artists annual exhibition. There is still another selection to go before the final exhibition however I'm  chuffed to have got this far & can't help but feel this is a wonderful way to start my adventure!

The piece selected is one from my recently painted series called 'Emmanuel', which I painted while  over the Easter period, which makes this achievement even more special.

This news came at the end of a wonderful week, having given my eldest daughter Alice away to be married to her now husband Ben. What a blessed week indeed!

Meanwhile, in the Studio, I completed a large piece as part of a collaboration with the social enterprise 'ArteMix', an inspiring interdisciplinary community. 'The Chain Project 2021' demands an artist react to another's artwork forming a chain across the disciplines. I'm really looking forward to being able to share this project with you once the Exhibition in London happens, during the summer.

Very much looking forward to the first 'City on a Hill' meet tomorrow, which is the first session we've been able to have since I stopped shielding, do contact me for further details if you are local & would like to come along.

I've also been busy building my website & teaching myself how to build the online shop, which will go live as soon as I get the go ahead from my business mentor. For those of you who don't know, I was accepted on the government New Enterprise Scheme & am working towards setting up my soul trader business. I have lots to learn but I'm very excited & keen to start selling, if a little nervous too. However I recognise that the physical  feeling of excitement & fear are pretty much identical & it's only how your brain consciously determines which one it is, so I'm clinging to acknowledging it as excited!
